Bulletstorm dev on sales: ‘We did everything we could’

It and Gears of War: Judgment sold around one million copies each People Can Fly wanted tomake a sequeltoBulletstorm, one of the most pleasantly surprising first-person shooters in years, but the prospect was deemed too risky. (I’m still not over this, if you couldn’t tell.) Instead, the studio went on to doGears of War: Judgmentwith Epic which, as it turns out, also failed to catch on in a meaningful way, despite the overall success of the coreGearsseries....

Destructoid review: Totomi

I’ve said before that I can’t believe I finally own a phone I enjoy gaming on, and as more and more interesting looking games come my way, I find myself happier and happier with where the future of gaming on the iPhone seems to be heading. Totomi, a game with distinctively adorable art and a casual approach to gaming on the go, caught my eye and while back; I recently spent some time with it, exploring what it had to offer....

Dying Light 2 challenges you to survive the night in 25 minute gameplay video

Disinfected Gamescom may be over, but the spirit of half-hour gameplay videos – so en vogue throughout the week – lives on courtesy of a video from publisher Techland of creepy first-person action titleDying Light 2. Taking place some 15 years after the events of the original, the city remains a deadly, survivalist environment where bandits and scavengers are to be feared by day, and the ravenous hordes of the infected are to be fought by night....

E3: ‘Smart As…’ proves game journalists are stupid

It took me a good 15 minutes of playingSmart As…until the pun in the game’s title hit me. Clearly, I shouldn’t be playing a brain training puzzle game but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. Smart As…is the gameBrain Ageshould have evolved into, except it’s way prettier because it’s on the Vita. LikeBrain Age, developer Climax Group’s Vita experiment is centered around a variety of mini-games that challenge you in different ways....

Endless Space 2 now has multiplayer and the Riftborn faction

Hold on, gonna nerd out for a sec Amplitude’sEndless Space 2is dutifully trudging through its Early Access period and the game’s third major update is bringing a new faction and (finally!) multiplayer. Said new faction is the Riftborn, an extradimensional being that lived in a pristine, geometrical plane untainted by strife. It was brought to the Endless universe when a rift tore open their (its?) dimension. The Riftborn uses time dilation spheres on entire galaxies to slow, speed up, or even stop their production, which sounds over-powered but I look forward to giving it a whirl....

Enjoy Ride to Hell: Retribution’s grindhouse cinematics

Those character models could use some polishing After the first few trailers forRide to Hell: Retribution, I have to say I was not really impressed. I can dig the overall biker aesthetic, but the low resolution textures and flimsy character models make the game look like it’s already reserving it’s spot in the bargain bin. However, this new trailer has given me a different perspective. While it’s lack of visual polish was the first thing I noticed, I failed to appreciate the grindhouse movie aesthetic that the developers were trying to create for their story....
