Tuesday on Backlog, I polished off the final confrontation inSpy Fiction. With its completion comes the rise of a new challenge and it is time for all of you to decide what that will be. If you aren’t aware of how things work, it’s simple: I give you a list of five games and you pick the one that appeals to you the most and say so in the comments below. Totally simple.
The selection of games for the new series are all returning as failures from previous rounds of voting. Devastating failures. In fact, these four games received the lowest percentage of votes in their respective rounds. That doesn’t make them bad, just less appealing to this audience than whatever happened to beat them (resoundingly) the last time around. Redemption could be right around the corner.

Or you could choose that Mystery Game thing at the bottom. That’s an option, too.
Dead Rising: Chop ‘Till You DropDeveloped by TOSE SoftwareReleased February 24th, 2009Received 4% of the vote in Series 5 (Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars)

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten SandsDeveloped by UbisoftReleased on May 18th, 2010Received 4% of the vote in Series 4 (Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner)
I was not thrilled with the idea of rebooting thePrince of Persiaseries twice in two games. I’m still not, but what can you do? SomePrinceis (arguably) better than none and I do love these games. Nevertheless, I won’t get around to playing it without your intervention and I’m told it’s pretty good so I certainly wouldn’t mind.

Afro SamuraiDeveloped by Namco BandaiReleased on January 27, 2009Received 4% of the vote in Series 4 (Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner)
I held off on playingAfro Samuraibecause I wanted to watch the animated series first, concerned that I would spoil aspects of the plot for myself. And then I watched about two episodes before getting distracted byDemon’s Soulsor some such other shiny thing. I don’t have high hopes for this being selected, honestly, but I’m throwing it back out to you guys again.

3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3)Developed by From SoftwareReleased May 11th, 2010Received 3% of the vote in Series 2 (Killer 7)
Everybody lovesZelda, right? I didn’t expect3D Dot Game HeroestocompetewithKiller 7when it first appeared in voting for Series 2 but I certainly didn’t expect it to end up dead last either. Yet here we are. Hopefully things go better for this lovable throwback the second time around because I’m looking forward to playing about with a variety of goofy main characters.

And now, introducing the “Mystery Game.” This is something I’m testing out as a an option going forward in Backlog. If you can’t decide on the four other games in the running, this is your fall back position. But be warned: The title I have selected to be the Mystery Game is typically chosen because I don’t expect people will vote for itat all. So think about it carefully and consider the Mystery Game to be yourlast resortwhen all else fails, lest you wind up choosing something that we’re all going to regret.
There it is. You have through the weekend to make your selection and we’ll return with a brand new Series of Backlog this coming Monday at 8pm Pacific onDestructoid’s Justin.tv channel!
