Hey, Valve likes Electronic Arts, so what’syourproblem? In aninterview with Eurogamer, Valve’s Gabe Newell wonders the same thing.

“Everybody always tells us what a horrible monster EA is supposed to be,” he said, “and we keep waiting for the hair to sprout out and the fangs to grow.”

Newell and the folks at Valve are so happy with their relationship with the industry giant (who are publishing theThe Orange Boxcompilation this fall), that he’s confident that the upcomingLeft 4 Deadwill also be published by EA. Additionally, Newell says there’s a “strong possibility” of a freeLeft 4 Deadlaunch weekend on Steam prior to release.

“It’s a game that requires you to play it,” Newell explains. “You can describe it until you’re blue in the face, but five minutes of playing it is definitely better than watching a 30-second spot on MTV to try to get you to understand whyLeft 4 Deadis going to be worth your time and money.”
