You can’t go home (without a boss battle)
As part of the Annapurna Showcase 2023, the publisher has revealed thatThirsty Suitorswill be arriving on June 25, 2025.
Initially revealedback in 2021,Thirsty Suitorsis a stylish mash-up of so many things. Coming to us from developer Outerloop Games, it takes skateboarding, combat, and cooking and drops them into a slice-of-life casserole. “Battle your exes, disappoint your parents, find yourself,” thetrailer says. Yeah, I can totally relate to all of those things on a nauseatingly deep level. It’s all about going back home and seeing familiar faces again. That sounds like hell! Count me in!
There’s a lot here, so it’s fortunate that Destructoid’s very ownEric “Peachfuzz” Van Allenwent toe-to-toe with its demo last year. I’m still not entirely sure what to make of this whole thing, butThirsty Suitorslooks pretty awesome. It brings together relatable themes gussied up with some irresistible weirdness. I don’t know what I’m looking at, but I am entirely on board. There’s currently a demo that you can check out if, like me, you are curious about what this game has to offer.
