Now THIS is more like it. Following the addition of a slew of cool but relatively faceless Rangers to the roster, nWay’sPower Rangers: Battle for the Gridhas revealed that the third and final DLC character forseason threeis classic, incomparable villain, Scorpina.
Debuting in the originalMighty Morphin’ Power Rangersseries, Scorpina was one of Rita Repulsa’s most ruthless lieutenants, battling the Rangers alongside fellow villains such as Goldar and Revolto. Bedecked in – frankly –fucking amazing armour, Scorpina fights off her enemies with a vicious spiked gauntlet and a curved sword which had boomerang-style properties. Like mostPower Rangersvillains, Scorpina can assume gigantic form, in which she becomes a twisted, not-very-like-scorpion-like, monster.

Scorpina will made available to purchase on December 8, bringing an end to season three ofPower Rangers: BftG.This season saw major changes to much of the tag-fighter’s meta, hopefully giving the title a shot in the arm for at least another year.BftG, while referred to in small circles, is one of today’s best supported and most accessible fighters, so here’s hoping that its dedicated fanbase can enjoy the title into the next generation of gaming.
After all, the party can’t start until Rita gets here…
Power Rangers: Battle for the Gridis available to download now on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Stadia. A physical edition will launch October 8 on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
