Higher than expected sales? That calls for shots, bro!

Earlier today, Ubisoft released somedetails about its earningsin the last financial quarter of 2012. Surprising no one, the publisher revealedAssassin’s Creed IIIsold a proverbial bucket load: 12 million units across digital and physical retailers, a rise of 70% over the previous installment in the series,Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

What was surprising wasFar Cry 3shifting 4.5 million units which Ubisoft described as “higher than expected.” I have to wonder if the game hadn’t been released in December, would it have sold more? Certainly, the buzz seemed muted until the positive reviews started flooding in.
