Step aside, Freedom Planet?
If you’re aSonic the Hedgehogfan, you may be aware of fangames by the name ofSonic Before the SequelandSonic After the Sequel.Developed by Felipe ‘LakeFeperd’ Ribeiro Daneluz, the games were really impressive and managed to feel like full, Sega-built 2DSonicgames in a way that the trainwreck that wasSonic 4simply never managed.
Now, LakeFeperd wants to make his own game withSpark the Electric Jester.Asking for only $7000, and already having passed the first $2000 in funding on Kickstarter, LakeFeperd is also supplying a three-stage-long playable demo for those not quite sold on the idea yet.

Spark the Electric Jesteris admittedly looking a bit unpolished at the moment, and doesn’t currently have enough music or sound design, which is what the funds will predominantly be going to according to the Kickstarter page.
Sonicwas not the only inspiration forSpark:MegaMan XandKirby Super Starwere both apparently big influences on the game. Considering the greatFreedom Planetstarted life as aSonicfangame as well, I’m excited to see how this one ends up.
