Kickstarter goes live at PAX EAST

SWDTech is drawing quite a crowd at their PAX East booth this weekend, where they’re debuting their JRPG-inspired 16-bit noir detective game, appropriately named Pixel Noir.

Coming to PC, Mac, Android, iOS, PS4, and Vita, the main draw seems to be the atmosphere and noir style, though the slick soundtrack they have playing at the booth helps. Both the look and sound ofPixel Noirare straight out of the SNES era, and the story sounds like something you could really dig into. Of course PAX East attendees are stopping by to play! We will have a full preview later this week.

The development process of this game is also a good story. They’re seeking funding viaKickstarterbecause they didn’t want to give into demands from investors to make their game simple or free to play. They were told that RPGs don’t sell, but they believe otherwise.

SWDTech has some cool features planned, including intuitive controls for mobile platforms as well as cross-save functionality across all platforms.
