Clowning around
PAYDAY: The Heistalways reminds me of Michael Mann’s brilliant, taut tale of thievery,Heat. And nowPAYDAY 2is channelingHeatby way ofThe Dark Knightin this new teaser, with a lone gunman and his clown mask standing stalwart on a street corner before illegal high jinks ensue. Full circle!
Also, I hope there’s lots more fire so I can constantly ask my co-op partners if they feel the heat around the corner and if they’re willing to walk out on everything in thirty seconds flat. Insufferable.
PAYDAY’s four player co-op capers are great fun. I still enjoy playing on occasion. I just lifted a panic room out of a drug dealer’s drug den over the weekend. I actually haven’t successfully completed all the heists yet, because they can be rather tough. Also I’m bad at games, probably. So are most of the people I play with. At least we’re funny. Now it seems I’ll have to ramp up my illicit murder killings and money stealings becausePAYDAY 2is slated for release this summer on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam.
I can’t wait for a whole new set of extravagant crimes to commit. Especially if they involve zip tying more civilians.
