From random traders to quest tipsters to fast travel waypoints, your map is always going to be full of icons, especially in towns. I’ve always had a complicated relationship with stealth games. On the one hand, I love sneaking around and plotting out how I’m going to take out every enemy in a given room. On the other, I get frustrated easily when a game has very specific goals in mind for me and I can’t really deviate from the norm without ruining the playthrough. Wholesome delivery Wholesome platformers are becoming more commonplace in the indie scene, and I think that’s a good thing. Oil change It seems like eons since welast heard anythingaboutMechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. The game was originally on track for a December 2018 release but appears to have hit a bump in the road. Russ Bullock, president of Piranha Games Inc. (the studio behindMechWarrior 5), took to Twitter to announce the delay and said it was to ensure, “the best single-playerMechWarriorexperience to date.” Not all hope is lost for trying out the game this year, though....

NX? With justZeldamaking a big splash at E3 this year, Nintendo has been noticeably quiet on most fronts, but that might not be the case in 2017. Speaking to IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto noted that, “We’re always challenging ourselves to create something new, so hopefully you’ll see a new kind ofMarioin about a year or two…maybe next E3 we’ll be able to share something.” I hope we see an NX blowout of sorts — that could be pretty amazing....

Hot offThe Darkness II, it’s been announced that Namco Bandai has signed with Paramount Pictures to co-publish and distribute the upcomingStar Trekin development at Digital Extremes for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3. This co-op game is set to come out in Q1 of 2013, prior to J.J. Abrams’ next movie hitting theaters on May 17. Though I’m traditionally wary of videogames even remotely attached to films, it’s hard for me not to be excited about the game....
