Not too shabby, squids It was no secret that Nintendo was betting big onSplatoon, and it looks like it paid off. They’ve just announced minutes ago that the game hassold(not shipped) one million worldwide, clicking in at “over 476,000 units” in the Americas, 368,000 sold in Japan, 230,000 in Europe, and over 20,000 in Australia and New Zealand (physical and digital units have been lumped into these figures). Nintendo is providing a ton of free content throughout the year, and I’ve predicted that if it sells well, plenty of paid DLC is likely on the horizon for 2016....

Annnnd… CUT. Today sees the release of the next DLC adventure for Bethesda’s violent shooterWolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The second DLC chapter sees ruthless assassin Jessica Valiant out dealing death to the Nazi propaganda machine. Valiant, codename “Agent Silent Death,” is charged with eliminating several head honchos of The New Order, currently located at film studio Paragon Pictures. This mission is of personal interest to Valiant, as the dead-men-walking are also responsible for Jessica’s own personal heartbreak, and now sweet vengeance glistens on her ruby lips....

Sweet baby Jesus he looks awesome Watching livestreams of video games is something I’ve never been able to get into, but perhaps it’s time I start trying to learn how to enjoy them. Last night during a Japanese stream ofPokkén Tournament, Mewtwo was unveiled as a fighter in the upcoming Bandai Namco game. With crystals bulging from his body, this form of Mewtwo is unlike any we’ve seen before. According to folks over at NeoGAF, the character is called “Dark Mewtwo” which doesn’t seem too unlikely given Nintendo’s repertoire of “dark” characters....

It’s still happening? If there’s one thing that would get me interested in anAssassin’s Creedmovie, it’s the attachment of Michael Fassbender to the project. While I have very little hope for the film, Fassbender (and his penis) is generally pretty great in everything, even if the rest is sub-par (Prometheus). As far asAssassin’s Creedgoes the movie isn’t in development hell, and will start filming in September for a June 06, 2025 release....
