Oculus VR announces developer conference Oculus Connect

If only there were hardware that could allow people to meet up virtually In ablog postthis morning, modern virtual reality pioneer Oculus VR announced a new developer conference with a focus on its hardware.Oculus Connectis intended to “bring together engineers, designers, and creatives from around the world to share and collaborate in the interest of creating the best virtual reality experiences possible.” Disregarding the slight irony of having to meet up in meatspace in order to further development on virtual reality, this seems like it could be great for helping out new developers with grand ideas for Oculus Rift....

InPokemon Unite, each character can use three“held items”at level nine that boost their stats in not-so-significant and significant ways, depending on what level they are. Here’s a way to navigate thePokemon Uniteupgrade scene. Pool Panic is brilliantly stupid

A funny game that is seriously good People often assume that lighthearted comedies all lack depth, or that their creators don’t work just as hard as those that specialize in other genres. This is part of why we so rarely see a comedy film win an Oscar. Knowing this makes me all the more worried that people will assume the wrong things aboutPool Panicwhen it’s released on Switch and PC later this year....

Speaking ofRust, it recently turned 10 and the developer has shared some interesting stats about the game. In a recentpost on Steam, Facepunch Studios celebratedRustpassing its first-decade milestone. Sony’s eye tracking technology will be a game changer

The coolest thing I’ve seen at GDC so far Imagine never having to use the right analog stick to move a game’s camera or reticle. Instead, you’d use your eyeballs to aim or move the camera — simply look at what you want to shoot at or move to. This sounds like some dream for the future of gaming technology, but Sony has a working eye tracking demo at GDC this year....

South Park’s E3 demo was somehow the most ridiculous one yet

Keepin’ it Classi Last September, I hit rock bottom as a games writer. Against my better judgment,I let Ubisoft strap a fart machine to my facefor a demo ofSouth Park: The Fractured but Whole. Bad call. Terrible. Just awful, really. Deals are not my art form. I sawSouth Parkagain last week at E3. This time proved to be less invasive but somehow entirely more ridiculous. When I say that, I mean it kept with the trademarkSouth Parkhumor in a perfectly on-brand way....
