With justZeldamaking a big splash at E3 this year, Nintendo has been noticeably quiet on most fronts, but that might not be the case in 2017.
Speaking to IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto noted that, “We’re always challenging ourselves to create something new, so hopefully you’ll see a new kind ofMarioin about a year or two…maybe next E3 we’ll be able to share something.” I hope we see an NX blowout of sorts — that could be pretty amazing.
We’ll see, I guess. Even if it’s not actually new, it will probably be good.Super Mario 3D Worldis still one of the best games I’ve played in this decade, and I’m still waiting for a true 3DMariofollow-up. I’m okay withMariostaying as one of the more traditional tent-pole franchises while Nintendo innovates in other areas.
