Which character would you want at the forefront?

Continuing its chat with variousrepresentatives of BioWareaboutMass Effect,OXMhas shifted the conversation to that of spin-offs. With Shepard’s trilogy over with, who might the developers want to step up as the driving force? It’s the kind of talk fanboys (and fangirls) daydream about.

“There’s so much that could be told in theMass Effectuniverse,” said executive producer Casey Hudson. “It’d be cool to do something completely unrelated to the larger storyline, like a story about a private investigator on the Citadel. Or maybe something detailing Garrus’ time in C-Sec.” Senior level designer Dusty Everman agrees: “While being one of Shepard’s most loyal friends, Garrus has also had some of the most driven personal goals.”

Mass Effect 2lead designer Preston Watamaniuk feels “a game centered on brutal Krogan combat with more of a melee focus could be pretty exciting.” Lead writer Mac Walters has a few characters in mind for the special treatment: “Aria. The Illusive Man. Kai Leng. Any henchman. The list goes on. I think most of them could have successful spin-offs of their own in some fashion.”

“Following the story of Javik a little bit more would be pretty cool,” said producer Mike Gamble. “As the last remaining member of a lost race, I think that we could tell a lot of stories about his adventures in the Milky Way, and coming to terms with his place in the new Galaxy.” And with that, I’m pumped forMass Effectagain — the possibilities, anyway.
