B-movie, gimme some gore!

FranknJohnhas to be one of the cutest Kickstarter projects I’ve seen, especially given the fact that it’s a roguelike set in a haunted house full of nods to B-movies. Plus, the titularFranknJohnhimself has a stake going through his head. That’s got to count for something. How adorable.

FranknJohn is a failed experiment who wakes from his grave with no memory, armed with a head that stays on his body by way of a chain. He swings his head to attack the nasties around him while traversing the mansion from where he once came. Influenced by games such asZombies Ate My Neighborsand evenDark Souls, this colorful roguelike features randomly-generated levels, swappable body parts, and permadeath — pretty standard fare for a game like this, but it looks just cute enough to warrant taking a look at.
