A large number of modifications were made to the console ports to make them more playable on controllers. They’re also updated at different times and rarely have parity.
So, because they essentially have a different infrastructure, they’re not compatible. However, the console versions could still have the possibility for cross platform, but they don’t.
Unturnedis free on PC and runs on relatively low-end hardware, so that might be your best bet for playing against your friends. Otherwise, you’ll need to make sure you choose the same platform to play against each other.
