The new Season 1 Reloaded update forModern Warfare 3andWarzonebrought with it plenty of new content for the game, including new weapons like the HRM-9. The HRM-9 has one of the most unique unlock methods inMW3andWarzonewe have seen thus far.
How to unlock the HRM-9 inMW3andWarzone
With theSeason 1 Reloadedupdate, the HRM-9 is now available as part of the Season 1 battle pass inMW3andWarzone. It is part of the new A21 sector of the battle pass, but it doesn’t work at all like the other 20 sectors in the seasonal pass. Instead of letting players spend battle pass tokens they earn to unlock the new SMG, you must complete some limited-time challenges this season.
There are five challenges in total you need to do first, the first four of which give you an additional item for free. Once you complete the initial four challenges in the A21 sector, you will then unlock the final challenge for the HRM-9 itself. Its completion earns you the new SMG.

Tips for completing all HRM-9 challenges
Those challenges ensure players have to get at least 60 eliminations of other players or special zombies inMW3,Warzone, or Zombies. Personally, I don’t recommend trying to do these challenges in Zombies since the special zombies take much longer to find and eliminate compared to other players.
Instead, you want to do battle royale game modes like Resurgence if you preferWarzone. This way, you are brought back constantly throughout the game and there are tons of players, so you have the most chances to eliminate these operators.
If you are a multiplayer fan inMW3, instead, I recommend playing game modes like Ground War, War, and Team Deathmatch. These also provide you with plenty of players to eliminate in a single match and it is possible to get 20, 30, or even 40 eliminations in one lobby.
As for the SMG you should use for these challenges, theRival-9is by far the best SMG in this game at this time. It has a decent range, fire rate, and impressive control in battles.
