By default, you start with 10 ship slots inStarfield. It can be like having a small intergalactic fleet at your command. Of course, you can only pilot one vessel at a time. So, how do you change your ships inStarfield?
It makes sense to swap ships around inStarfield. After all, some are perfect for combatting wily space pirates while others are more suited for moving massive cargo from vendor to vendor. You can choose which ship suits the situation best. I know I’ve spent more time space-truckin’ around the universe with enough resources and random crap to sink a small island. But when I wasfighting off Crimson Fleet vesselsin a bid to put the faction out of power for good, I preferredthe zippy Razorleafover my heftier ride.

Swapping your ships is a simple process. All you need to do is head to the nearest port, whether that’s the New Atlantis starport or the Deimos staryard, and speak to the ship technician. The technician is typically the person you see standing either near your ship after landing. They might also be found in a ship service office close by — like the fellow at Akila City.
Walk up to the tech and choose the option “I’d like to view and modify my ships.” You get taken to the ship editor menu. At the top of the screen is the name of your current home ship. To the left and right are button/key icons showing you what to press to change ships. By default, you press the ‘T’ key to go right and the ‘Q’ to go left on the keyboard, or ‘RB’ and ‘LB’ respectively on an Xbox pad. That’s all you need to do to change ships inStarfield.

Keep in mind that you may only swap to other shipsifyou have other ships. If you’re still stuck with the ol’ Frontier, no worries.Starfieldpresents many opportunities for you to get new ships, even for free.
