When you’re not out fighting to bring managed democracy to the universe inHelldivers 2, you’re on your ship. Unfortunately, most ships look the same, but that could change in the future with Arrowhead discussing ways to personalize your base.
Your ship is where your armor up, pick the weapons you’re going to use, and decide which planet you’re going to help liberate next. While you canupgrade your Super Destroyerto add new tools and features, they all look pretty identical, and can’t be customized to show your personality.
Thankfully, that could be set to change. In the officialHelldivers 2Discord server, one Super Earth soldier asked if there was “any hope for ship decorations,” saying that “it would be cool to add a bit more personality.”
Community manager Spitz was the one to reply, confirming that it is “something that has been discussed.” While that may not sound like much, it does tell us two things: That the developers are aware of these calls and are thinking about it, and that it hasn’t been turned down yet, otherwise, Spitz would probably have either ignored the question or said it was unlikely.
Unfortunately, there’s no time frame on when customization options could come, and with so much going on, it’s hard to see when they’ll even get the time. On April 16, Spitz admitted that theconstant stream of Warbonds makes fixing glitches challenging, never mind adding a new feature that is purely cosmetic.
Still, it would be awesome to change the inside of your ship to suit your personality and show fellowHelldiverswhat your space looks like. Customizing theRoom of Requirement inHogwarts Legacywas one of my favorite things about the game, and I could really sink some time into a feature like that inHelldivers 2.
