The expansive (dying) world
As part of 2023 Summer Game Fest, Square Enix has shown off a ratherheaping helpingof gameplay fromFinal Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Itlooks pretty great! It starts off showing the aftermath of the first game before showing off the world you’ll be exploring. There are a number of re-imagined scenes that will be familiar to anyone who played the original title, as well as some new surprises. There’s an especially big twist that I don’t want to spoil in case you don’t want to watch the trailer and prefer to go in blind. I respect that.
Perhaps the most exciting information here is thatFinal Fantasy VII Rebirthis slated for early 2024. But most excitingly is that it’s comingon two discs.In this economy? I can’t remember the last time I saw a game come on two discs without it actually being twoseparatetitles. Wow!
