The First Hunt for Genesisis now live inFinal Fantasy XIV, running through March 11. There’s a long list of duties eligible for Tomestones of Genesis rewards, too. From traditional Moogle assignments to the new Ultimog Challenge, here’s the latest onFFXIV’sMoogle Treasure Trove and how to unlock the Ultimog challenge.

The Mogpendium Ultimog Challenge

For those who were expecting this duty to be a high-level Trial or Raid, sorry to be the bearer of possibly bad news, but it looks likeyou’re going to have to go Ocean Fishing instead. The requirements for this duty are as follows:

As promised, the Ultimog Challenge does indeed offer a sizable reward –50 Tomestones of Genesis I, to be precise. You’ll only be rewarded once for completing this challenge during the event.

How to unlock Ocean Fishing

If this is your first foray into the world ofFFXIVOcean Fishing, you’re going to have to unlock it, first. Head toLimsa Lominsa Lower Decksand talk to Fhilsnoe(X7.0, Y14.0)to pick up a quest,All the Fish in the Sea. Completing this quest will unlock Ocean Fishing.

How to join Ocean Fishing

This is where things get a little bit different from what you might be used to.

Ocean Fishing is only available every two hours in real-time.I know this can be slightly confusing in the beginning, but there are Community-made references likeLulu’s Tools, which are helpful for watching the timer.

When you know that a voyage is about to begin, you have tophysically take yourself to Limsa Lominsa and talk to Dryskthota (X3.0 Y12.7). She will submit you into the queue for ocean fishing.You cannot access Ocean Fishing in any other way.

Dryskthota can also provide you with route details as well as the upcoming voyage schedule.

Minimog Challenges

These challenges will reset weekly at the same time as the generalweekly reset. Completingeither of themwill earn you 10 Tomestones of Genesis I.

Each week, a duty from the above list will be chosen at random to be your Weekly Challenge. Completing this Weekly Challenge will earn you a once-weekly bonus number of Tomestones, as detailed within the Mogpendium
