While much of the show’s news was Game Pass-centric as you’d probably expect, there were a few surprises. Microsoft closed out theMexico City-based eventwith two more notable studio acquisitions:Fallout: New Vegasmaker Obsidian andWasteland 2creator inXile Entertainment. These teams join the likes of Playground Games, Undead Labs, Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory, and The Initiative.

X018 was uneven at times as certain segments dragged on way longer than they needed to, but that back-and-forth pacing kind of comes with the territory for these shows. For better or worse, the stream felt like a longer, more energetic, fan-focused version of the normalInside Xboxshowcases.
