Finity Blade
TheInfinity Bladetrilogy is no longer available for purchase on the Apple app store. While a new entry in the series hasn’t been made since 2013, Epic Games has continued to support the titles with free updates periodically over the last half-decade. Now, though, the studio is citing a lack of resources for keepingInfinity Bladeup to the standards that Epic wants.
In anofficial statement, Epic states, “At Epic we strive to put players first and to provide a supported, full-fledged experience in every game we publish. With the development ofSpyjinxand other projects, it has become increasingly difficult for our team to support theInfinity Bladeseries at a level that meets our standards.”

If you’ve already purchased the games, you’ll be able to redownload them. All in-app purchases have been disabled, but some more updates will be coming toInfinity Blade IIIover the next month. Epic is teasing “other surprises” alongside something called “Clash Mobs,” so fans will be able to send off the series with one last hurrah.
Closing out, Epic says, “As we bid farewell, be sure to keep your eyes peeled! You may findInfinity Bladepopping up in places you wouldn’t expect.” While it would be easy to assume this means the recently launched Epic Games Store, the first appearance has been inFortnite. You can now wield the legendary blade in-game.

As for the future, I only hope that Epic does something else with the series. I always championed it as the best mobile game around and it’s sad to see it fade away.Infinity Bladewas basically an evolution ofPunch-Out!!and showed that mobile games don’t need to try and emulate console titles to be enjoyable. Is it too much to ask for a Switch port?
