Ben Briggs is not afraid to get a little wet
The bespectacled beanpole musicianBenjamin Briggs— and I call him that out of endearment — has justreleaseda pair of electro-houseSonicarrangements for your listening pleasure. Care to partake?
Both tracks are mashups with theSonic Colors‘s Aquarium Park themeat their center. “Trash FM” is mixed in withSonic 3‘s Hyrdocity Zone, while “Dub Interface” is spliced withSonic 3D Blast‘s Rusty Ruin Zone. These songs are fun and infectious, not to mentionfreeshould you so choose.

What’s cool about this particular release is that it is officially endorsed Sega throughJoypad Records, the music label that has also obtained licenses from Nintendo for theZelda-themedThe TRIFORCE of BASSand thePokémon-themedKanto Symphony. I’m so pleased by how simple and painless it’s become to go through the legal channels to release fan-made work. Not that I’ve ever been too worried that lovingly crafted fan efforts are just a hair’s breath away from being stomped by some heartless company, but it’s nice to have that peace of mind.
