Elden Ring Nightreignlooks like it’s a multiplayer-only game, oftentimes showing a group of three taking on the new Limveld area. It then poses the question: canNightreignbe played solo or is there a single-player aspect?
Can you play solo single-player inElden Ring Nightreign?
Luckily, if you are looking to playElden Ring Nightreignby yourself, you’ll be able to do just that. The Network Test just concluded, showing only three-player sessions. That is not how the full game will be at launch.
Nightreign is going to either be playable in trios or solo. So, fortunately, if you had an aggravating time dealing with quitters and wanderers during the Network Test, you can avoid that playing solo.

The game should scale to just one person when playing solo so the game would still be beatable to the end to reach the Nightlord.
There will still be the option to play solo online, though that experience can be vastly different as you’ll have two other random players venturing with you.

How is playing solo different from co-op?
If you choose to play solo in Nightreign, it should feel more like what you’re used to in Elden Ring (obviously just faster in pace and with some features missing).
You’ll be venturing alone, killing enemies, defeating bosses, and leveling up. Should you die at any point, there won’t be a way to revive yourself. Instead, you’ll die and still lose a level.

The stakes are somewhat higher when it’s just you playing. All the aggro is on you, including random invasions that can stop your progression, like the Fell Omen.
Do you need PS Plus or Xbox Live/ Game Pass to playNightreignsolo?
It’s only when you actively play with others in a matchmade setting that that will be the case. Otherwise, you’re good to travel through Limveld alone.
