If you’re aCall of Duty Warzonefan, particularly a fan of the ranked mode featured on Al Mazrah, we have good news. Ranked is returning toWarzone, only this time it’s not coming to Battle Royale.

Instead, as of the February 7 season two launch, players can play ranked Resurgence. Additionally, Fortune’s Keep, a Resurgence map from previous versions ofWarzone, has returned. Unfortunately, the Fortune’s Keep reboot is the only playable map forWarzone’snew ranked system.

That means players who enjoy the classic one-life (and a gulag) Battle Royale game mode will have to continue grinding without a rank. According to thisdeveloper blog, Battle Royale players can expect a “ranked play experience to return later in the year.”

How does the Resurgence ranked mode work?

Firstly, players must reach at least level 55 to access ranked Resurgence. This helps prevent solo queuers from getting bad teammates but also helps keep cheaters out of ranked play. The same system is in place for regularranked multiplayer inModern Warfare 3.

Next, the season two launch only includes a trios playlist. That means you’ll need to sort out which of your four squad members is getting the boot. If you primarily play solo or only have a duo partner, good luck. Fortunately, the ranking system is very similar to the one used in multiplayer.

What’s different about the new Fortune’s Keep map?

While many players will be familiar with the general layout and points of interest around Fortune’s Keep, it isn’t exactly the same as last time around.Call of Duty’snewest Resurgence map features a few changes to keep things fresh.

Aquatic vehicles are new to the map to help with traversal around the outside of the island (and through some other areas). Additionally, many parts of the map, like the Keep castle point of interest, now have quick-ascending elevators, underground rock tunnels, new stairs, buildings, a brand-new helipad, and a fissure that cuts through the ground near the southwestern coast.

More small alterations make Fortune’s Keep worth exploring, even if you played the previous version. Many of the changes will drastically impact how fights can play out, or just help you run and escape those pesky sweaty players.
