Developed by Bizarre Creations (makers ofGeometry Wars) and published by EA,Boom Boom Rocketwill be the first rhythm-based game to grace Xbox Live Arcade. It’s going to set you back 800 Microsoft Points and will first launch in the U.S. Canada, and Europe on Wednesday. If for whatever reason you don’t live in any of those fine regions,Boom Boom Rocketwill be available in the near future in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore,Australia, and New Zealand.

Here’s a snippet from the press release:

Players trigger rockets to the beat of the music while traveling through a 3D cityscape. The better the player times the explosions, the more spectacular the fireworks effect. The fireworks are choreographed to 10 original tracks created by Ian Livingstone, who recently scored “Batman Returns” and “Project Gotham Racing 2.”

Game Features

Two single player gameplay modes – Normal and SpeedTwo single console multiplayer head-to-head modes – Battle and EndurancePractice ModeFreestyle mode – No target line or scoring, just mash buttons to create cool fireworks shows*Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points

I can’t say I’ve ever heard of a game that was able to fuse fireworks and music into gameplay before, so this should definitely be worth checking out. Is anyone else out there going to play it blindfolded?
