Ash is a quick, agile Warframe that lends itself well to dealing substantial damage while also being stealthy. You can purchase the Ash Warframe in the market. Having a decent amount of survivability makes Ash good at endurance missions.
Ember Warframe — July 19, 2025
Ember is another Warframe you can purchase from the in-game market. She’s a damage-dealing Warframe that excels in early-game content. Playing her in later content is a bit harder, but she remains a strong choice in capable hands.
Excalibur — July 12, 2025
The Excalibur Warframe is one of the three starter options, and it’s a great choice if you like getting up close and personal with your enemies. It’s primarily a melee-themed choice featuring close-range skills and a summoned sword. you may also get Excalibur from the market if you didn’t pick it as your starting option.
Loki — Jun 06, 2025
Loki is a heavily stealth-focused Warframe. It can be especially useful for infiltration missions but can also be a fair damage-dealer in the right hands. There are stronger options, however. You can buy Loki inWarframe’sin-game market.
Mag — July 19, 2025
The Mag Warframe is a great crowd-control option. Its abilities allow it to handle large groups of enemies at a time. This Warframe can also be obtained from the market or by picking it up at the start of the game.
Rhino — July 11, 2025
Rhino is a tank or frontline Warframe capable of absorbing tons of damage and controlling the battlefield with brute force. Being heavily armored, this Warframe doesn’t have great movement speed, and escaping from a lost battle won’t be easy. However, you also won’t die easily, letting damage-dealing Frames in your group wipe out enemies while you withstand the onslaught.
Trinity — Jul 10, 2025
The Trinity Warframe is best used as support, offering both healing and energy restoration. It is best used as part of a squad, and it’s not advised to use it in solo missions unless you want a challenge or are farming low-difficulty levels for resources.
Volt — June 28, 2025
Volt is a mobile, damage-dealing Warframe that uses electricity to attack and stun foes. It’s a versatile Warframe with some support abilities and can be good to play solo and with a squad. This is the last of the three starting Warframes.
Frost — August 08, 2025
Frost is a sound defensive Warframe that can freeze enemies, provide barriers, and minimize damage to itself and its allies. This Warframe is best used as part of a squad, helping to keep more damage-focused allies alive while they deal the damage.
Nyx — June 09, 2025
The Nyx Warframe is another that adds solid defensive options to a squad. It can also strip away enemy defenses and enable the damage dealers in the squad to clear the battlefield. As a support/defensive option, Nyx is best used as part of a team.
Banshee — August 08, 2025
The Banshee Warframe excels at crowd control and dealing massive damage with sonic-based abilities. To be successful with Banshee, you’ll have to spam abilities a lot, as damage does increase over time.
Saryn — July 21, 2025
The Saryn Warframe deals huge amounts of AoE damage using toxic spores and can effectively deal with large groups of enemies. However, this Warframe doesn’t have great survivability, so it’s best used in a team with a solid tank or healing support. That said, going into levels solo with Saryn isn’t necessarily a bad choice, as she can still hold her own if you’re an experienced player who can get out of tough situations.
Vauban — July 13, 2025
The Vauban Warframe is something of a tech wizard, using several gadgets to control enemies. This Warframe is, therefore, great at crowd control — laying traps and using drones to lock enemies in place.
Nova — July 24, 2025
The Nova Warframe is an out-and-out damage dealer. As the quintessential glass cannon, she can deal massive AoE damage with her abilities and take down hordes of enemies in no time. Just don’t get hit, as this is one of the squishier Warframes around.
Nekros — July 21, 2025
Nekros is another Warframe that’s good at endurance missions. As his name suggests, he is a necromancer, able to bring enemies back from the dead to fight their still-living comrades.
Valkyr — August 08, 2025
The Valkyr Warframe is the berserker of this game, with rage-building abilities and high HP. This is a great Warframe if you like to fight on the frontlines, deal great damage, and survive for longer.
Oberon — Aug 02, 2025
The Oberon Warframe offers a decent mix of offensive and defensive capabilities, making him a well-balanced fighter. He can even rank with his health regeneration abilities, which makes him good wherever you want to use him — whether flying solo or as part of a team.
Zephyr — July 17, 2025
Zephyr is a powerful Warframe capable of dealing damage and disrupting enemies. She uses the power of air to summon tornadoes, stay airborne herself, and deal decent damage. Overall, she’s another good option for both solo or team play.
Hydroid — July 06, 2025
Hydroid has offensive and crowd-control abilities, able to deal AoE damage and apply status effects to large amounts of enemies at once. It’s a great choice to play as part of a team alongside some tanky allies.
Mirage — June 01, 2025
Mirage is a bit of a trickster Warframe, with abilities that confuse enemies. She also buffs weapon damage for herself and her allies, making her a great choice for players who prefer to deal weapon damage.
Limbo — August 05, 2025
The Limbo Warframe isn’t much of a team player, with his abilities focusing mostly on himself. That said, it’s a great Warframe for solo players who can spam their abilities, thanks to powerful regeneration capabilities.
Mesa — July 20, 2025
The Mesa Warframe is kind of a gunslinger, making her a very “cool” character to play. Apart from that, she isn’t particularly useful. Most damage dealers outclass her in terms of DPS, and most tanks do a better job at surviving.
Chroma — June 22, 2025
Chroma is a beast of a Warframe, able to deal significant damage, buff teammates, and withstand a decent amount of damage as well. He’s a great choice in both solo and team play and particularly good at facing the Profit Taker.
Equinox — June 26, 2025
The Equinox Warframe is difficult to play but an excellent support when used correctly. Switching between her two forms — day and night — grants her offensive or defensive abilities, and seasoned Equinox players are a boon to any team.
Atlas — July 31, 2025
The Atlas Warframe is a great option for close-combat damage-dealing potential, with AoE damage abilities and a decent amount of HP. Atlas can be well-utilized in a team or even solo, providing a nice balance to gameplay. He shines with a good crowd controller, though.
Wukong — July 02, 2025
The Wukong Warframe is a tanky, tricky one to play. He deals okay damage, but his strength lies in his mobility and survivability, making him great for endurance or spy and rescue missions. Again, this Warframe is good both in a team and solo, but a team may hold you back when traversing the map quickly.
Ivara — June 27, 2025
The Ivara Warframe is one of the stealthiest options in the game, having the ability to turn invisible and surprise-attack enemies for huge damage. This makes her a great choice for stealth missions, but she’s also great for solo play.
Nezha — July 18, 2025
The Nezha Warframe specializes in dealing huge damage with fire-based abilities, being able to melt enemies quickly. He also has a good amount of survivability, given his mobility, but even this is not enough for late-game content, and he can be rather squishy then and in need of a good tank.
Inaros — July 01, 2025
The Inaros Warframe is a tank with massive survivability. He has high HP and lifesteal abilities, giving him great survivability. He’s overall a solid choice for endurance missions and as part of a team.
Titania — June 27, 2025
The Titania Warframe is, first of all, a damage dealer, capable of dishing out large amounts of damage and disappearing with her high mobility. She also has some crowd control at her disposal, making her a solid Warframe. The only downside is that she doesn’t have too much survivability.
Nidus — July 03, 2025
The Nidus Warframe is practically undisputed in any sort of endurance game mode. As a damage dealer and crowd controller, his damage scales with time, making him more powerful as time goes by.
Octavia — August 02, 2025
The Octavia Warframe is a solid damage dealer featuring support abilities as well, making her a great solo and team option. At one point, she was one of the strongest Warframes in the game, and she’s still decent — even in endurance game modes.
Harrow — July 11, 2025
The Harrow Warframe is an offensive support that does well within a team. He buffs weapons for himself and all allies, turning the squad into a powerful damage-dealing team for tough encounters.
Gara — July 31, 2025
The Gara Warframe is a great damage dealer with defensive abilities, allowing her to tank damage, too. This makes her a great addition to any team, but she shines in solo play, so if you don’t have a squad, Gara is a solid choice.
Khora — Jun 13, 2025
The Khora Warframe is an excellent hybrid that can deal damage, crowd control, and survive. This makes her a fantastic choice for most missions, including tough endurance missions, solo play, and team play.
Excalibur Umbra — May 17, 2025
There are two parts to Excalibur Umbra: his self-awareness while using Transference and his Frame self. In his Frame form, Excalibur Umbra doesn’t have many differences from his regular self, making him fine, albeit not the best option compared to Warframes with higher survivability and damage output.
One of his main differences comes when you use Transference, letting him fight alongside you rather than sitting AFK while you have all the fun. If you find yourself in Transference often, having Excalibur Umbra by your side to help can make things more fun. Otherwise, he isn’t the worst, but there are better options.
Revenant — July 10, 2025
The Revenant Warframe is kind of OP, having great survivability, decent crowd control, and the ability to dish out plenty of damage. He can take on just about any late-game content and stand strong, and he’s especially insane in the early game. Solo or in a team, this one’s great.
Garuda — June 06, 2025
Garuda is best used as a tank and support hybrid, able to heal and soak up damage. She can even inflict damage when the need arises, making this Warframe a great generalist and a smooth fit into most team comps.
Baruuk — July 25, 2025
The Baruuk Warframe offers incredible tankiness and some crowd-control abilities, making him a fantastic tank. He can also deal a fair amount of damage with melee attacks, making him viable solo, but he is best used as part of a well-rounded team.
Hildryn — Aug 08, 2025
Hildryn is another incredibly able tank Warframe, featuring a support ability that allows her to strip enemy armor while regaining armor and shields for herself. She can also deal damage, making her a powerful choice for solo and team play.
Wisp — July 24, 2025
The Wisp Warframe is more of a hard support, lending its allies bonus regeneration and movement speed. It can even chip in with damage, but it’s definitely not a great Warframe for solo play. This one’s best used in a team.
Gauss — July 08, 2025
Guass is a great Warframe, featuring survivability, a high damage output, and satisfying mobility. However, as strong as he is, his abilities can take some time to learn and get used to before you can get the most out of him. Gauss is better for experienced players, but beyond that, can be utilized anywhere within a team or solo.
Grendel — July 10, 2025
The Grendel Warframe is another one of the best tanks in the game. He can eat enemies, restore health, and, in certain circumstances, be nearly unkillable. He also has minor support abilities and functions best as part of a team with a few heavy hitters in.
Protea — Jun 09, 2025
The Protea Warframe makes a good tank, a great static defender, and a decent damage dealer. With the right build, Protea can be used in solo play and teams and can be an excellent Warframe in the right hands.
Xaku — August 05, 2025
The Xaku Warframe is primarily a damage dealer and crowd controller, offering a pretty powerful option for all-around play. However, the inexperienced Xaku user is more of a hindrance than a help. This is another difficult Warframe to learn, but it is well worth it once you get the hang of it.
Lavos — May 18, 2025
The Lavos Warframe is pretty flexible, inflicting status effects, dealing AoE damage, and supporting teammates. However, for some reason, this is not a great Warframe for early-game content, but really comes alive in more difficult late-game content.
Sevagoth — June 21, 2025
Sevagoth is another versatile Warframe that can deal damage and tank using his abilities. However, this Warframe can be quite expensive to upgrade, and there are better options, but if you’re intent on using him, you’ll need thebest Sevagoth buildpossible.
Yareli — July 03, 2025
Yareli is a damage-dealing Warframe with crowd control and high mobility. She’s a fantastic DPS who can dish out plenty of damage but can’t take too many hits. Best used with a good tank in the mix.
Caliban — July 16, 2025
The Caliban Warframe is something of an enabler, able to strip enemy armor for the heavy hitters to burst them down fast. He also features some decent crowd control, but overall there are better Warframes at the present moment.
Gyre — June 11, 2025
Gyre is another one of those Warframes that is terrible in the wrong hands, but an adept Gyre will wreck enemies and clear out battlefields in minutes. She is great at dealing plenty of damage fast and also features some crowd control.
Styanax — July 18, 2025
The Styanax Warframe is an underrated support with team buff and offensive capabilities. We wouldn’t recommend going it alone with him, but as part of a team, he really shines and can make a huge difference.
Voruna — July 01, 2025
Voruna is a Warframe that you’ll either love or hate. She focuses heavily on melee combat, so if that’s your thing, you could deal a ton of damage with her. If you’re not used to being out front and in the faces of the enemies, you likely won’t enjoy her.
Citrine — July 03, 2025
Citrine is another hard support Warframe, featuring mostly team-focused heals and buffs. Definitely a Warframe you’ll want to play as part of a team, as she isn’t great in solo battles and can extend the duration of missions a fair bit with lower damage output.
Kullervo — July 11, 2025
As another melee-focused Warframe, Kullervo is hit or miss, depending on your preferences. Some players believe that while he’s great for early-game content, he falls off during late-game content and can be difficult to justify bringing to a Steel Path run.
Dagath — June 24, 2025
Dagath is a great caster and disruptor Warframe, able to debuff and deal damage to enemies in a large AoE. She is one of the more powerful caster frames when used correctly but she can take some getting used to. Underrated, in our opinion.
Qorvex — June 14, 2025
The Qorvex Warframe is a solid damage dealer with weapon-based abilities forming the core of his strategy. This, backed by a couple more damaging abilities, can make him a great choice both in a team in and for solo play.
Dante — June 09, 2025
Dante is a tanky Warframe that buffs allies and keeps everyone alive longer. He can chip in with some damage, but his core role is as a support tank. If you’re a tank main, he is worth picking up and can be very useful in a team setup.
Jade — June 14, 2025
The Jade Warframe is a great support with the ability to rapidly eliminate enemies in her path, making her a decent solo choice. However, this Warframe works best as part of a team.
Koumei — July 10, 2025
The Koumei Warframe is best at crowd control, able to inflict powerful status effects on her enemies that can turn the tide of any battle. She’s a good, capable Warframe, but you’ll need astrong Koumei buildto get her right.
Cyte-09 — June 13, 2025
Cyte-09 is all about stealth. By hiding in the darkness and using his abilities to turn invisible, Cyte-09 can quickly detect enemies, identify their Weak Points, and use his exalted Sniper Rifle to eliminate opponents en masse. He may not be the most suitable for run-and-gun situations, but if you want to feel like a stealthy sharpshooter, Cyte-09 is who you’re looking for.
Temple — July 26, 2025
Temple is a great frame for anyone who also likes Octavia. Equipped with a special guitar, Temple inflicts heat damage on their foes, blasting pillars and creating waves of fire. Oh, and they do so while absolutely shredding on their guitar, adding some style points to every mission.

These are all Warframes in release order.Note that all these Primes can still be obtained in-game, except for Excalibur Prime, even if they are vaulted.
Warframe release cycle
There’s expected to be a new Warframe and a Prime every three to four months. The new frames come out with a significant update like Qorvex did with the Whispers in the Walls quest (Update 35). Then, another frame is released as the update goes to the halfway stage or interim update (ex. Dante Unbound Update 35.5).
A quest or game mode typically goes alongside the new frame. Whether for lore reasons or new missions to grind, there’s more than just the frame to their update.
Lastly, Primes mostly come out on a hotfix day. Sometimes, their releases coincide with a major update, but it’s mostly a time factor. A good indicator to see when the next one comes out is when you start seeing news that the most recent Prime Access is going away soon.CheckWarframe’ssocialsto see when exactly those end so you may plan for the next Prime drop.
