Each title has been “re-worked for High-Definition,” and features online leaderboards and network play where applicable.Altered Beast, the arcade version ofShinobi,Comix Zone,Phantasy Star II,Sonic the Hedgehog 3, andSonic and Knucklesare all slated for release on XBLA. The announcement that Just Add Water was going to be releasing a high-definition upgrade ofOddworld: Stranger’s Wrath(the only game of the series I have yet to play and/or achieve 100% completion in) set me all a-twitter with anticipation. Now, in an interview with Joystiq, managing director Stuart Gilray has stated thatStranger’s Wrathis just the beginning and that the company has plans for five additionalOddworldtitles. The latest [kinda] new Street Fighter character The second season ofStreet Fighter Vbegan with Akuma, and the newcomer (who was present in the series in the past, but not playable) Kolin is keeping the party going. Naturally, pro players have already taken her to the lab and are finding some promising results. The key seems to be her V-Trigger, which shoots out ice that can bait and punish. She also has three parries (the EX version can implement a stun), and a lot of OTG (off-the-ground) potential....

Namco Bandai’s upcoming 3DS multi-company mashup,Project X Zone, is an absolute treat, and is one of the best things I’ve played at Tokyo Game Show 2012. It’s too bad that it has yet to be announced for North America. After spending some time with it today at TGS, I’m already prepared to import a copy when it releases next month in Japan, but I still want a full localization to happen, as this game is too good to be limited to one country....
