Bright Memory: Infinite works better on Switch than I thought it would

Still kind of shines, just not that bright Bright Memory: Infinitehas been a game I’ve admired from afar since word of it first dropped a couple of years ago. The idea that a single person was developing an action shooter that looked like it could belong to a AAA developer was intriguing, if only for what it said about the future of indie development. Each new trailer contained a myriad of potential, and thepurchasable preludedid enough to paint a portrait of possibilities for the final product....

CD Projekt Red trademarks Gwent: The Witcher Card Game

Here’s a fancy logo Gwent, the in-universe (and real) card game fromThe Witcherseries might be getting a full-on release soon. By way of the EUIPO site we’ve found that CD Projekt Red has trademarked the name “Gwent: The Witcher Card Game,” with a colorful new logo. It could indicate a physical tabletop release, or [more likely] aHearthstone-like PC and mobile game. We’ll probably know more come E3. My love forThe Witcher 3, much like Jasmine for Aladdin, grew over time....

Check out the gorgeous new trailer for Dragon Quest XI

Guess what my favorite part was Square Enix showed off a new trailer for the upcomingDragon Quest XIyesterday at Jump Festa, an anime convention held annually in Tokyo. It’s the most we’ve seen of the title so far, and it looks like this may serve as the game’s attract mode in the final release. The environments and characters look fantastic, and there’s plenty here that will appeal to longtimeDragon Questfans. It’s brief, but you can just make out the main character unsheathing a sword that looks an awful lot like the one used by the hero in the very firstDragon Quest....

China’s probably going to save the Transformers franchise…again

Wow, china that big Tranformers: The Last Knightis, well, a mess. Poor writing, poor pacing, poor Marky Mark, and is basically par for the course for theTransformersseries. Yet, these things still make a ton of money. You might be wondering why folks are still drawn to these films despite being put through the ringer four times before, but there’s hope yet…at least domestically. It turns outTransformers: The Last Knight“only” tracked $69.1 million (nice) over its five day spread....
