Although, if Iwerethe type of person to get all hot and bothered by the mere mention ofHalo 3, then I’m pretty sure that this lone, single, and rather purty, picture of Master Chief would cause me to go into a frenzy of speculations....

Set some time aside in April, because GungHohas announcedthat theLunar Remastered Collectionwill arrive on August 08, 2025 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. I feel like we keep gettingLunarre-releases, but I looked it up and the last one was actually in 2010 for the PSP. Or 2012 if you count mobile. Still, it’s seen a lot of second chances for a game that original released on Sega CD back in 1992....

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdomwill eventually get an “update for next-gen consoles to support native 4K/120fps signal via HDMI 2.1,” according to FDG Entertainment. There aren’t currently any plans for a new physical release on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and thePC versionalready has 4K support....

Don’t turn around (because you can’t) This week sees retro publisher Hamster drop another very obscure shmup onto Nintendo Switch, as Jaleco’s older-than-old-school space shooterExerionis this week’s Arcade Archive release, and now available to download from the Nintendo Store. Released in arcades back in 1983,Exerionwas a surprisingly deep game from a technical standpoint, which experimented with both parallax scrolling, depth-of-field, and inertia mechanics considered fairly advanced for the era. Players shoot down waves of enemies while gliding over the surface of strange planets....

We’re on the road toModern Warfare 3Season 4, so it’s no surprise that teasers for new content are already dropping. With aGundamcrossover already confirmed,CoDfans think the image released to announce it may hint at a classic 2009MW3map: Arkaden. The image, released on May 19, shows the large shadow of a Gundam suit on the side of a building. It seems to be the side of a shopping complex in Japan, with the signage all written in Japanese....

Tanks for the Memories Once again, retro-lovin’ publisher Hamster is reaching into the past oflegendary studio Namcofor another addition to its massive Arcade Archive range — This week sees the arrival of one of the developer’s lesser-known ’90s hits,Tank Force,now available to download on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Released to the arcade market in 1991,Tank Forceis the third release in Namco’s unofficial “Tank Battalion”trilogy — preceded byTank Battalion(1980) andBattle City(1985). This multi-directional shooter sees up to four players battle it out in top-down, caterpillar-rolling action....

If you look back at the coverageSamitandDavid Houghtongave the bill, you’ll get an excellent idea of what the bill talks about. I’ll try not to just repeat what they’ve already said. Of course, as soon as this was passed, condemnations of the whole law were shouted by theESAand theACLU. The ESA’s release condemned the law as pointless, a waste of money, and ignores legal precedent....

Check another one off the list As revealed this weekend at PAX East,Dust: An Elysian Tailis coming soon to Steam. The hope is for a release in April, though we do know for sure that this version willnotuse Games for Windows. That’s a win. To coincide with the news, there’s also an announcement trailer full of some rather glowing (but deserved) quotes about the action game. For as long asDustwas in development, it’s so wonderful to hear that it’s shedding exclusivity for a financially viable platform like Steam....

Kickstarter goes live at PAX EAST SWDTech is drawing quite a crowd at their PAX East booth this weekend, where they’re debuting their JRPG-inspired 16-bit noir detective game, appropriately named Pixel Noir. Coming to PC, Mac, Android, iOS, PS4, and Vita, the main draw seems to be the atmosphere and noir style, though the slick soundtrack they have playing at the booth helps. Both the look and sound ofPixel Noirare straight out of the SNES era, and the story sounds like something you could really dig into....

It just keeps going Uncovering the mysterious, unforgiving, crazy-but-believably-crafted world ofLordranis one of the greatest pleasures experienced in not onlyDark Souls, but in the last decade of videogames. I’m still wrapping my head around Ash Lake and its seemingly endless, world-holding trees. ArtistJudson Cowanwrote in today with his impressive illustration of these forsaken lands (high-res here), and I can’t imagine how much of a pain it must’ve been to get all of those areas together in a cohesive piece....
