Sony’s 3D head-worn visor thing costs $800, supports PS3

I saw this silly head-mounted personal 3D display earlier this year at CES. It was at Sony’s booth, where Iwas too excited by the glasses-free 3Dto care about some cyclops visor thing. It seemed like something too far away to care about, but now it’s really coming out. The HMZ-T1 was announced at IFA in Berlin last month and nowit’s on Sony’s UK store page. It’s really happening. No pricing is listed yet, but the last we heard it would be around $800....

The Daily Hotness: Cowboy Bebop hip hop

Nerdcore rapper Richie Branson has a project called OtakuTuesdays, in which he produces and releases a new rap based on a requested anime or manga. First up is “Space Cowboy Serenade,” using “The Real Folk Blues” fromCowboy Bebopas a backing track. I didn’t think I’d love it as much as I did, but I was floored. He’s also done raps based onInitial DandGurren Lagann! (Row! Row! Fight da powaa!) Today, Ryan Perez stuffs some “plaster cock” in your art hole, Maurice reviews the incredible (told ya)Awesomenauts, PAX Prime is out of passes, and Miyamoto says cute things the way only Miyamoto can....

The PAX East IndieGameStand booth has 12 games

Featuring a prize wheel! The best part about PAX is the indies — plain and simple. Sure, you could wait in a two hour line to get a look at the newAssassin’s Creed, but you could also spend that time not waiting in line, playing indie games, and most likely chatting with real live developers. Seems like a pretty easy decision if you ask me. IndieGameStand, a new digital distribution service, highlights a new indie game every 96 hours and they’re bringing 12 of these games to PAX East for everyone to try out and enjoy....

It’s taken long enough PS4 owners may be able to finally enjoyPlanetside 2this month in beta form. After responding to a fan, Smedley stated that the PS4 version was approved, and it should go up “the week of the 14th or 20th....

This TF2 hide and seek mod is the highlight of my week

When you take into consideration how I skateboarded off of an exploding parking garage while being chased by a runaway UPS truck full of bears only to land in one of those portable swimming pool trucks, saying howthis hide and seek modforTeam Fortress 2was the highlight of my week means something. First thing is first, creditgoes to Shacknewsfor finding the crazy thing. What makes the mod so great is that you aren’t just hiding your character on various maps — instead, youarea prop, and you have to position yourself in a believable way so you don’t get found....

Those worthless gold coins from My Nintendo can be used to pay for Switch Online memberships

Hallelujah! $20 for a year of Nintendo Switch Online isn’t the worst price around, but the value isn’t really there. All of the features are years behind the competition and the selection of free titles is incredibly lackluster. I suppose the family plan option might make it more palatable for customers, but there seems to be a silver lining here that we didn’t notice before. In thenewly updated FAQfor Nintendo’s online service (which is separate from the one I had used formy last articleabout Switch Online), it states that users can use My Nintendo Gold Coins to pay for their subscriptions to Nintendo’s service....

Watch Dogs 2 is a perfect weekend Game Pass game

No iconic hat though It’s aWatch Dogs 2Game Pass kind of week, as Microsofthas announcedthe next set of titles coming to the service this month. Considered by many to be an improvement upon its predecessor,Watch Dogs 2delivered on a lot of promises Ubisoft originally made for the series (rememberthose bizarre Ubisoft E3 presentations?), and you can play it on PC, consoles, and cloud/mobile on July 19. The rest of the list isn’t half bad either, as there’s a new game in there (As Dusk Falls), as well as aMotoGPromp, and some RPG love....

I wasn’t anticipatingMinitroidas much as some of you — especially not asmuch as Jonathan— but now I can see where the adoration is coming from, first-hand. A playable tech demonstration for the in-progress tinyMetroidfan game has been put online. Tokinsom, Betatronic, and Jamie Billings are really on to something with this game. I fear that it could be a long, long time before we get to play any sort of full release, but at least this is one solid demo....
